HealtheCareers releases Q4 2012 Healthcare Jobs Snapshot

As 2012 came to a close, healthcare employers pushed hard to find as many new candidates as possible to prepare for the New Year. The last quarter of 2012 included growth across the board in healthcare, both compared to Q3 2012 and Q4 of 2011, with an increases emphasis on physician recruiting.

Year-end growth is tied to several trends, most notably the ongoing, steady growth of the American job market for all positions, with modest employment increases in October, November and December. As private employers across all sectors hire, healthcare demand will continue to be one of the most consistent growth areas. The New Year also has the system preparing for significant changes as a result of the Affordable Care Act, now just months away from implementation, adding demand for healthcare staff of all kind.

With a 23 percent increase in job postings since Q3, physicians remain the most in-demand among healthcare professionals. After physicians, nurses, administrative/executive professionals and physician assistants were the most sought after professionals on HEALTHeCAREERS Network in terms of job postings.
